Male High School Students: Selective Service System registration is required by law for male U.S. citizens and male immigrants at age 18. By registering, a young man remains eligible for jobs, state-based student aid and employment in most states, Federally-funded job training, and U.S. citizenship for immigrant men. The agency permits males up to age 25 to complete their registration with the Selective Service System. If you have not yet registered, you may register online at www.sss.gov or pick up the forms at your nearest post office. Failure to register will affect your eligibility for scholarships and financial aid for college and could also lead to fine or imprisonment.
