Hello! My name is Braydon Gold. I am an artist, educator, soccer coach and proud member of the Air Force Reserves. I was born and raised in San Antonio Texas and have been teaching art and coaching soccer at Alamo Heights High School for 6 years. (2016-Present)

As an artist who teaches art, I actively weave my professional practices into my student’s curriculum. I strive to show them that their artistic voice matters, and that creating art is unquestionably one of the purest forms of human expression. For Nearly I have been a practicing artist. My artwork has been featured in local galleries, national exhibitions, and is held in permanent collections worldwide. Using art as a form of meditation, I create large sculptures and tranquil color field paintings that express my inner emotions and thoughts. While my sculptures are often characterized by rugged materials and strong geometric forms, my paintings are mindfully tranquil and show a tension between the strong and the delicate. The rhythmic and serenely abstracted artwork that I make is aesthetic in nature and universally approachable.

During my undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Arlington (2008-2012) I majored in studio art, played soccer for the university's soccer team, and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. While striving to professionally develop my artistic abilities and soccer skills, I worked to attain multiple coaching licenses through the esteemed U.S. Soccer Federation coaching program. This allowed me the privilege of transitioning from playing college soccer, to being hired as the Head Coach and Program Manager for the UTA Men’s Soccer Team (2010-2013). Graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors, my experiences at UT Arlington helped pave the way for a future of leadership through teaching and coaching.

In 2013 I received a full ride scholarship to the University of Texas at San Antonio to pursue a Masters degree in Fine Arts. While working as a full time graduate student, I taught various sculpture & industrial arts classes, and happily served as the Exhibit Fabricator for the UTSA Arts Collection. These various opportunities and fully immersed experiences gave me a unique perspective of what it means to be a professional artist. In 2016 I graduated from UTSA with Summa Cum Laude honors, and distinction as one of the programs first Presidential Scholarship graduates.

I consider myself truly blessed to do what I do, and it is with great joy that I am able to share my passion for art and soccer with the Alamo Heights community. Mules up!
