Organizations & Interest Groups

There are three general categories of student activities. They are Academic Organizations, Extra/Co-curricular Organizations and Interest Groups. All student organizations/groups are subject to AHISD Board Policies, Student Code of Conduct, State Regulations, and applicable laws.

Academic Organizations at Alamo Heights High School are either related to academics or student government, and under the sponsorship of the high school administration.

Extra/Co-curricular Organizations are those competitive student activities sponsored by the school district such as fine arts, athletics, JROTC, and UIL Academic competition, as well as school sanctioned spirit groups.

Although Interest Groups are school related through students, facilitators, and use of facilities, they are not formed or sponsored by the school district. Instead, they are formed out of common interests of a significant number of students. See the student handbook for more information regarding Interest Groups.

2024-2025 Interest & Organizations Groups List 

The Student Interest Group & Organizational Fair is happening on Thursday, September 12th, during both lunches in the Oaks Courtyard! (Rain plan: Deck space between the Mods).

For anyone interested in starting or renewing an interest group should keep these important dates and required forms in mind:

Student Group/Organization Application - Due by September 6, 2024
Parent Permission Form
Table Reservation Form - Due by September 9, 2024. Organization must be approved       before table request will be granted.

This is the perfect chance to drum up membership for your new club idea! To make your club official, all these forms must be completed. More details on the process are explained directly in the forms. 

Reminder: All interest groups, new and returning, must submit a fresh application. Each group needs a representative at the table during both lunches for the Fair. 

Approved groups must submit permission slips for each member and have at least 15 members to be officially recognized. The due date for permission forms will be communicated to the representatives of approved organizations at a later date.
